Application
The WX Scholarship Program has offered scholarships to women in real estate programs since 2004. Since inception, the scholarship program has awarded 189 women at 14 schools totaling approximately $885,000.
Applications will be accepted between December 1, 2015 and February 26, 2016. Scholarship Committee members will interview finalists in March 2016 in person or via telephone as required, and scholarships will be awarded in April 2016.

Eligibility: |
WX awards scholarships on an annual basis to promising women students studying real estate at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students must be enrolled in school during the full 2015-2016 academic year. The criteria we use in awarding scholarships are as follows: i) academic merit; ii) a demonstrated interest in real estate through courses, clubs, internships and experience; and iii) a high likelihood of working in the New York metropolitan area upon graduation. Candidates who meet the above criteria and have applied previously, but have not received an award may reapply. Students applying to the Scholarship Program must be in their final year of studies. There is a maximum one award per student, previous recipients will not receive additional awards. The Scholarship Program is limited to U.S. residents and citizens. |
Scholarship Amount: |
Recipients can apply for a financial awards based on demonstrated financial need. Scholarship awards amounts range and may be awarded up to $10,000. |
Application Materials: |
Applications will be based on the following: 1. Essay. An essay, not to exceed one typewritten page. The student will identify her degree program, and discuss her career expectations and how past and present work experience and education have contributed to her planned career path. The essay should include a statement explaining why the student feels that the scholarship should be awarded to her. 2. Description of the Major or Degree Program. Should include a description of the requirements of the degree including required and elective course offerings. 3. Transcripts. Grade point average for coursework in the current program as well as previous undergraduate and graduate work (as applicable). Please include copies of graduate (as applicable) and undergraduate transcripts. 4. Financial Statement. Financial need, as evidenced by a completed and certified Personal Financial Statement (see attachment). 5. Faculty Recommendation. A letter of recommendation from a member of the faculty of the applicant's program. 6. Second Recommendation. A second letter of recommendation from either an employer or a second faculty member. 7. Resume. A current resume. 8. Interview. A personal interview with WX members will be required. |
Deadline for Submitting Application: |
Applications will be accepted between December 1, 2015 and February 26, 2016. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted. The deadline for submission of applications is 5pm on February 26, 2016. Applications should be mailed or emailed to the contact below. Candidates may be asked to meet with the WX Scholarship Committee in March 2016. |

Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions in April 2016. |
